The Project:
Work to create a £19 million housing estate to be called 'Harbour Place' has begun in Workington.
The 107-home development, on Lawson Street, will have 79 apartments for people with extra care needs and 28 affordable rent bungalows for people aged over 55, plus facilities including a community café and hair and beauty salon.
It is being built by The Riverside Group and Atkinson Homes and it is hoped it will be completed by October 2024.
Riverside said it was part of its ongoing commitment to the local community, following its merger with Impact Housing in 2018, regenerating a brownfield site which has been disused since terraced housing was demolished over 30 years ago.

How we helped:
Atkinson Homes decided to proceed with our Sandec Safety System, using our supply and fit service.
- Using this service means we take care of the whole process for Atkinson Homes, we delivered the required materials to site
- Our FASET trained and CSCS carded operatives erected the Sandec platform when scheduled/requested by the site management team, working safely along the site team, providing erection sign-off documentation upon completion and making sure the installation was HSE compliant
- Provided additional product where and when required, dealt with under pre-agreed variation terms
- Returned to site to dismantle on an agreed date. Packaging the product up ready for use elsewhere or removal off-site, providing dismantle sign-off documentation
- Our supervisors attended site on a weekly basis to ensure the quality, safety and timekeeping of our operatives work
- Ultimately our reliable system improved safety and boosted productivity on site
